Anther-sac located at the tip of the filament that contains pollen. Filament-stalk that connects to and holds up the anther. Seeds-a small embryonic plant enclosed in a covering called the seed coat, usually with some stored food. It is a "baby" plant and will grow into a full grown plant with time. Bumblebee-Bumblebees are social insects that are characterised by black and yellow body hairs, often in bands. They feed on nectar and carry pollen. Carpel-consists of the stigma, style, and ovary. The "mom" part of the flower. Pollen- is a fine to coarse powder containing the microgametophytes of seed plants, which produce the male gametes. The "dad" part of the flower. Stigma-the part of a pistil that receives the pollen during pollination. It is sticky in order to collect pollen. Style-the slender, neck-like portion of the carpel that leads to the ovary. Ovary-structure at the base of the carpel that houses the ovule or egg. Petals-one of the soft, colorful parts of a flower. Zygote-a cell formed by the union of two gametes. It will eventually grow into a living thing. Gamete- one of the cells that join together to begin making a person, plant or other creature Molecule-the smallest possible amount of a particular substance that has all the characteristics of that substance Monozygotic/Identical twins- twins that develop from one zygote that splits and forms two embryos. These twins are what are normally pictured as "twins." They often look alike. Dizygotic/Fraternal Twins- twins that develop from two different zygotes that form two distinct embryos. These twins might not even look like twins and could be as different as being boy and girl twins. Biotecnology- is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make useful products Vegetative Propagation: A method by which People can clone plants by taking a cutting of the plant such as a twig or stem and planting it in soil.
